Meditation Sessions are available for Individuals and Groups, at the practice, in-house at the workplace or your venue, perhaps your home with a group of friends. Meditation is a way of creating a balance between the mind, body and spirit, the physical, emotional and the spiritual, with the intention of generating increased serenity and holistic well-being. It is a process that trains the mind to focus on the present. Using meditation allows clients to stop their internal mind chatter so that they can focus on the here and now. (Uses & Benefits) Meditation can take many forms - some focus on an internal aspect such as breathing or body movement. Another form may incorporate a guided visualisation where you are led on a journey that you experience in your minds eye. Others focus on something external such as a candle or the point where two fingers touch and use silent concentration to still the mind. A different type of meditation may use chanting of one or more sounds and yet another type requires the ability to achieve an extremely slow walk. And some meditations will use a combination of all of these forms. Meditation benefits clients in the long term by relieving stress and anxiety and also by increasing awareness, intuition, concentration and learning. People who meditate on a regular basis are calmer and better able to cope with stressful or traumatic situations. This can have tangible health benefits if practised on a regular basis. Medical research across the world is proving that relaxation and visualisation techniques can help our long-term health and well-being by reducing the hormones that are present when we are stressed. The hormone that is most commonly known is adrenalin which comes into effect when we are feeling threatened or under attack. This is a hormone that is released when our body responds to stress through the fight or flight response. But if we experience this response over a long period of time, if we are continually stressed, the adrenal glands will start to produce cortisol. This hormone affects our ability to recall information. This is why we are unable to remember even unimportant things and become increasingly forgetful. It can also cause problems with sleeping, whether unable to go to sleep, waking earlier than needed or unable to achieve a full nights sleep. If this sounds like you why not give Meditation a try? Some of the benefits of regular practice of meditation are:
